Clarion Partners has partnered with the Friendship Heights Alliance to host an exclusive art exhibition featuring the work of Robin Bell at the Chevy Chase Pavilion. The Alliance is a property owner collaborative and nonprofit dedicated to transforming and growing the Friendship Heights neighborhood in both Montgomery County, Md., and Washington, D.C.
As the Alliance was looking for a venue to showcase the work of local artists in 2022, Clarion recommended hosting exhibitions at the Chevy Chase Pavilion to enhance the retail space experience and bring increased foot traffic into the neighborhood to support local businesses. The property is a mixed-use project located at 5335 Wisconsin Avenue NW, directly above the Friendship Heights Metrorail Station. The Alliance organized a photography exhibition in coordination with a local gallery and the National Park Service in Summer 2022 in the same space.
This year's featured exhibition, “Studio by Robin Bell", is a recreation of the eponymous visual and projection artist's Mount Pleasant studio of 18 years; the exhibit is on view throughout the month of March. The show is an immersive installation with a salon wall showing the work he has collected and created over the last two decades, as well as pieces of ephemera from the projections he is most known for.
Clarion seeks to make a positive impact on the local communities in which we operate and work by supporting the local arts and culture scene and bringing residents together. Earlier this year, Clarion also partnered with the Downtown Boston Business Improvement District to transform a vacant storefront at 101 Arch Street into a vibrant community gathering place to help spotlight prominent vacant storefronts and bolster commercial leasing opportunities in the area.
