Clarion Partners Named 2023 Best in Building Health Award Winner By Fitwel

Press Release

Fitwel 2023 Best In Building Health Award Winner: Clarion Partners

NEW YORK – March 23, 2023 – Today, Fitwel announced that Clarion Partners has been named Best in Building Health (BiBH) with the Industry Leadership Award for Portfolio Benchmarking.* Best in Building Health honors best-in-class real estate companies and individuals who are leading the healthy building movement by example, leveraging Fitwel's data-driven, scalable technology platform to set the bar for excellence in building health.

Created in partnership with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and operated by nonprofit research organization, Center for Active Design (CfAD), Fitwel is a people-centric healthy building certification system that sets the industry standard for evidence-based strategies to promote health and wellness through the built environment. Fitwel's data-driven platform integrates asset and portfolio-level benchmarking, a streamlined healthy building certification process, and “S" focused ESG reporting guidance.

Clarion Partners joined the Fitwel Champion network in 2020 and the firm has 21 active Fitwel certifications, with additional certifications and recertifications expected in the future.** Clarion also participates in the Fitwel Leadership Advisory Board, which offers organizations the opportunity to actively participate in maintaining Fitwel's vision by providing direction and input into its continuous growth.

“Clarion Partners is honored to be recognized by Fitwel. As a firm, we seek to add value to our assets through a variety of initiatives including well-being and sustainability," said Karen Mahrous, Head of ESG at Clarion Partners. “Fitwel provides accountability and data insights through their benchmarking platform which we look forward to leveraging to enhance asset value."

“The past few years have been transformational, revealing unprecedented challenges and opportunities for the world, and in particular, the real estate industry and healthy building movement," said Joanna Frank, President and CEO of CfAD. “As Clarion Partners' achievements have demonstrated, prioritizing health is no longer a reactive market trend – it's an established business imperative that represents an opportunity for real estate to mitigate risk and maximize investment."

Kicking off today with the announcement of Best in Building Health winners, the 2023 BiBH celebration will continue throughout the year as Fitwel continues to amplify its winners' achievements on digital and print mediums. This year, Fitwel will launch its inaugural issue of Building Health, a print publication that will include feature stories about BiBH winners, as well as deliver meaningful industry insights and trends into the healthy building movement, analyzing its evolution and substantiating the value and impact of health-centric “S" strategies in ESG reporting.
