Clarion Senior Vice President Paula Schaefer has been named
New York Women Executives in Real Estate's (WX) Woman of the Year for her accomplishments as a leader in the real estate and financial industries as well as her contributions to WX over many years.
Paula has been active in the commercial real estate industry for more than 25 years and has been a committed and influential member of WX Inc. since joining the organization in 2005. She served as President of WX from 2014 to 2016, has served on both the WX Board and the Charitable Fund Board, is a school liaison for the WX Scholars Program and has served as a Mentor in the WX Mentoring Program for many years. As a longtime member of WX, Paula is an inspiration to and a consistent voice for the development of young women entering and advancing their careers in all aspects of the real estate profession. WX is delighted to recognize Paula’s contributions to WX and its mission.
Paula began her real estate career in New York City in 1985, following graduation from Georgetown University and The Wharton School, where she earned her MBA. She took roles in asset management and acquisitions at The Yarmouth Group, Reichmann International, and Cadillac Fairview Shopping Centers. She moved to Morgan Stanley Real Estate in 1995, where she was a Managing Director, working in asset management, fund management and investor relations, in both New York and London. From there, she moved to Christie’s International Real Estate, where she served as Chief Operating Officer. In 2013, Paula joined Clarion Partners as Chief Operating Officer of the Client Capital Management Group, and is currently Sr. VP, Multifamily Asset Management. Paula has also been an Adjunct Professor of Real Estate at Columbia University.
