Employees in Clarion’s LA office wrapped up 2020 with a holiday donation supporting
South Central LAMP, a charity that provides a supportive environment for economically challenged families.
In a particularly challenging year for many families, the Clarion office donated $500, and LA employees donated an additional $700, which was enough to purchase over 35 gifts and provide classrooms with building blocks, books and other motor skill learning sets.
LAMP’s Leila Guizar wrote to the LA team, “Without your generous donations, the children we serve would not have had something to look forward to on Christmas morning. You helped provide joy this holiday season and took the pressure off the mothers who could not afford gifts. Without knowing it, you have all made a huge impact on the lives of those most affected in our community and we are very grateful.”
LAMP supports single minority women with children. While the mothers attend classes to learn English, their children attend a pre-school program at the same facility (all free of charge). UCLA and USC sponsor vision and dental programs for the kids.
